01Who this guide is for
Codex Handbook is for beginners working on small desktop tasks: choose a folder, describe a request, open the output, ask for a revision, and check the result.
You do not need to finish a programming course first. Personal webpages provide concrete results you can inspect. Other models may be covered later; our current focus is getting started with Codex.
02Who maintains it
This site is led by the individual who initiated the project, with Codex helping to organize content, write pages, and perform checks. The maintainer chose the audience and design direction. Case reports explain how the work was performed and do not present agent demonstrations as independent user studies.
This is an independent, unofficial learning site. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by OpenAI. Codex and related product names belong to their respective owners.
03How tutorials are written and updated
- Product and interface descriptions include official references and verification dates where available. Read them in the context of your own version.
- Exercises and checklists are written for this handbook. Outputs can vary with inputs and environments.
- Captions distinguish application screenshots from generated artifacts.
- Recorded cases preserve outputs, process details, and unverified items. Suggested steps are distinguished from actions actually performed.
The English edition adapts the same content. Original Chinese screenshots, source downloads, and recorded requests remain unchanged. English practice prompts are translations, not evidence of a separate English-language test.
04What supports a review
We distinguish completion, partial completion, and unverified requirements. Timing records state their boundaries. Missing cost, usage, or model identifiers are not replaced with invented measurements.
Our published review is one personal-webpage case analysis. There is no standardized model leaderboard or independent beginner experiment. Read the review method and Lin webpage case for details.
05Where to start
Begin with lesson one, or use the existing-page revision tutorial if you already have a page. If something goes wrong, use the problem-report template.
If your interface differs, record the article address, your version, and the difference, then compare the official references. Do not include passwords, verification codes, or keys in diagnostic material.
